Male Birth Control Study Was Halted Because It Was Giving Men Negative Side Effects

You may have seen similar headlines circling social media channels this past week. If you missed them, read a few of the articles here and here.

Women were posting and sharing the articles all over social media asking, “If men can’t handle the side effects of hormonal birth control, why should women have to?”

I am so glad that these articles have sparked this question!

In response, many women have decided that more pressure should be put on the pharmaceutical industry to urge them to do more research on female hormonal contraceptives, so that women no longer have to suffer with so many side effects. I completely agree. For many women, hormonal contraceptives are the best birth control option for them, therefore, they should most definitely rise up and demand for it to be improved.

Hope for another response 

Through these articles, women felt validated that the side effects they suffer with are not okay. Because of this, I hope that more women start asking “is there non-hormonal birth control that actually works?” The answer: YES!
